Too hot for school

Today as the temperature reach 30 degrees we all needed to cool off.
So out came the sprinkler and our togs!
Pure delightful relief.
ahhhhhhhh

Jarred's hut signs for the forest

Jarred has been having a tricky time in the forest with his hut lately. Things kept disappearing from his hut and there were not enough signs for him to put a red sign ("red sign = please leave this hut) . So yesterday we had a discussion in the forest about how we could fix this problem.
Jarred decided that making new hut signs would be a solution.

So today Jarred set to work and created 12 new signs to be used in the forest.
First he went to the forest to make sure he knew what was on the signs. Then he wrote all the signs in pencil and went over the words in vivid so it was easy to read.
Then Jenny helped him laminate them.
We have put them on a hook just outside our class. Please help yourself to a sign if you need one for your hut.

Buddy Reading

On Friday we all had to squeeze onto the deck because it was too wet to buddy read on the grass like we normally do. We still had a great time and found some great places to snuggle up with a great book and a buddy.

Alex's writing

The other day Alex wrote a story about his world that he was really proud of.

When I asked him who he would like to share his story with he said Tyson.

We are proud of how much effort you put into your writing Alex.

Assembly Today

Today Maia and Eleanor hosted our whole school assembly.
They planned the whole assembly and wrote the script by themselves.
We were really proud of you both today.

Michaela got a certificate for being someone others can rely on in the Osprey room.
Eleanor got a certificate for being a mature role model for others.
And Alex got a certificate for perservering with his learning.

We are looking forward to many more exciting assemblies this year.

Osprey Measuring Trail

Today we have been working with our learning buddy to complete our measuring trail.
A measuring trail involves using a map to find places in our school and answering questions about the height, length or circumference of things we can see from that particular place.

We had to estimate and measure the length of the field.

We had to estimate and measure the length of the tennis net.

We had to estimate and measure the circumference of the oak tree.

We had to estimate and measure the height of the library windows.

We had to estimate and measure the length of the tunnel slide.
